Address Type Share
Each output type as a percentage of total, showing the shift from legacy to SegWit to Taproot
Short ranges plot one point per block, about one every ten minutes. Longer ranges plot one point per day, computed from every block in that day. How it is computed depends on the chart: some average, some total the day up, some are a ratio of the day's sums, and each chart says which. Either way a brief spike inside a day is smoothed away.

About this metric
Definition
The same output types as a share of the total rather than as counts. Counts rise and fall with how busy the chain is, which hides a format gaining ground during a quiet week; a share strips that out and shows the types competing with each other. The bands total 100% by construction, so one type can only grow at another's expense.
How it is measured
Six payment types normalised to 100%, so the bands total the whole. OP_RETURN outputs, bare multisig and unrecognised scripts are outside that denominator, which is why this chart and P2PKH Sunset give different percentages for the same type. This one divides by those six; P2PKH Sunset divides by eight, adding bare multisig and unrecognised scripts, so its denominator is the larger and its figure for the same type is always the smaller of the two. Neither counts OP_RETURN outputs, which are not payments to anyone.
