Fee Rate Bands
Fee rate percentiles from p10 to p90, the central 80% of each block's transactions. Click legend items to toggle lines
Short ranges plot one point per block, about one every ten minutes. Longer ranges plot one point per day, computed from every block in that day. How it is computed depends on the chart: some average, some total the day up, some are a ratio of the day's sums, and each chart says which. Either way a brief spike inside a day is smoothed away.

About this metric
Definition
What different transactions in the same block paid, rather than one number for the block. Each line is a percentile: p10 is the rate a tenth of that block's transactions came in under, the median is the middle one, and p90 is the rate a tenth paid more than. The gap between them is how unequal the block was.
How it is measured
Five percentile lines, each read directly off the block: p10 is the rate a tenth of that block's transactions paid less than, the median is the middle one, and p90 is the rate a tenth paid more than. Not stacked, because percentiles do not add: stacking them made the top boundary the sum of five quantiles rather than p90. The gap between p10 and p90 is the central 80% and says nothing about why any transaction paid what it did. Click legend items to isolate lines.
