Witness Data Share
Witness data as percentage of block size. Higher means more SegWit discount savings
Short ranges plot one point per block, about one every ten minutes. Longer ranges plot one point per day, computed from every block in that day. How it is computed depends on the chart: some average, some total the day up, some are a ratio of the day's sums, and each chart says which. Either way a brief spike inside a day is smoothed away.

About this metric
Definition
How much of a block is witness data: signatures and scripts moved out of the transaction body by SegWit, where each byte counts a quarter against the weight limit. Currently about half of every block by raw bytes.
How it is measured
Witness data receives a 75% weight discount under SegWit rules. A higher witness share means more of the block is discounted data, effectively increasing the block's capacity beyond the old 1 MB limit. Recent blocks run near half: about 51% over the last 10,000, with well under a tenth of them anywhere in a 60 to 70 per cent band.
